A Randomised Approach to Formal Polynomial Identities
نویسندگان
چکیده
A Monte Carlo method is presented for checking when a multivariate formal (noncommuting variables) polynoial vanishes. The method uses O(n) random bits to achieve an error upper bound of 1=2, where n is the total degree of the polynomial. It is applied to produce a certiicate of a digital image which for an error upper bound of 1=2 has size O(n + q) log(n + q)) bits where n is the image resolution and 1=2 q deenes the threshold of its pixel quantisation. The method is based on a simple Galois theory fact and some observations from formal language theory.

Rings with a setwise polynomial-like condition
Let $R$ be an infinite ring. Here we prove that if $0_R$ belongs to ${x_1x_2cdots x_n ;|; x_1,x_2,dots,x_nin X}$ for every infinite subset $X$ of $R$, then $R$ satisfies the polynomial identity $x^n=0$. Also we prove that if $0_R$ belongs to ${x_1x_2cdots x_n-x_{n+1} ;|; x_1,x_2,dots,x_n,x_{n+1}in X}$ for every infinite subset $X$ of $R$, then $x^n=x$ for all $xin R$.
متن کاملA class of formal Operators for Combinatorial identities and its Application
In this paper, we present some formulas of symbolic operator summation, which involving Generalization well-know number sequences or polynomial sequences, and mean while we obtain some identities about the sequences by employing M-R‘s substitution rule. Keywords—Generating functions; Operators sequence group; Riordan arrays; R.G Operator group; Combinatorial identities.
متن کاملNew identities for Bell ’ s polynomials New approaches
In this work we suggest a new approach to the determination of new identities for Bell’s polynomials, based on the Lagrange inversion formula, and the binomial sequences. This approach allows the easy recovery of known identities and deduction of some new identities including these polynomials.
متن کاملIdentity and Representation through Language in Ghana: The Postcolonial Self and the Other
Research related to colonialism and post colonialism shows how the identities of indigenous people were constructed and how these identities are reconstructed in our contemporary world. The thrust of this paper is that colonialism brought a shift in the linguistic structure of Ghana with the introduction of the use of English among Ghanaians. The coexistence of both Ghanaian languages and Engli...
متن کاملNew Identities of Hall-Littlewood Polynomials and Rogers-Ramanujan Type
where a = 0 or 1, are among the most famous q-series identities in partitions and combinatorics. Since their discovery the Rogers-Ramanujan identities have been proved and generalized in various ways (see [2, 4, 5, 13] and the references cited there). In [13], by adapting a method of Macdonald for calculating partial fraction expansions of symmetric formal power series, Stembridge gave an unusu...
